Sylvie Hayes-Wallace
Homerun
January 22 - February 21, 2021
Opening Reception January 22, 2-9pm
Listen to same song on repeat, over and over again like white noise to try to clear my head. An empty space for room to think. Wait for wifi, clean, hope for no flood, no standing water, no mess.
The other day someone told me “it’s annoying to be annoying.” It didn’t work at calming me down, but it reminded me that there is something about the inside and the outside, like caverns, that are supposed to be separated but usually just mush together and there you are, a small body in a big empty pool. City, Country, Hell—what’s the difference? The best advice I ever got was about moving or staying put, and someone said wherever they were, “I would be miserable anywhere!”
First base, second base, third base, homerun.
